Our Services

At Eastland Acupuncture, we use principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Each of our treatments is designed to restore balance, relieve stress, and support your body’s natural ability to heal.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. It is based on the understanding that an energy, or “life force,” known as Qi (pronounced “chee”) flows through the body along channels called meridians. When this flow becomes blocked or imbalanced, illness can occur.

By inserting fine, sterile needles at specific points, acupuncture helps restore the smooth flow of Qi, promoting balance and well-being. From a Western perspective, this process stimulates the nervous system, encouraging the release of natural chemicals such as endorphins, which help relieve pain and improve overall health.

A course of sessions is typically recommended to achieve lasting results.

Massage & Manual Therapy

Chinese manual therapy and massage, known as Tui Na, is a hands-on healing practice rooted in Daoist philosophy and the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This therapeutic approach works to balance the body’s Qi, supporting natural healing and overall wellness.

Through a combination of kneading, pressing, and rolling techniques, practitioners stimulate acupressure points and meridians to improve energy flow and relieve tension. Tui Na can help address pain, stress, and a wide range of musculoskeletal or respiratory concerns.

Recognized as one of the four main pillars of TCM—alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine, and qi gong—Tui Na offers a deeply restorative way to harmonize the body and mind.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing technique that relieves pain and inflammation, reduces muscle tension, improves circulation, and enhances flexibility.

During a session, cups are placed on the skin—commonly on the back, shoulders, or legs—creating gentle suction that lifts the tissue. The cups may be left in place or moved across the skin to provide a deep, massage-like stretch.

This suction increases blood flow and promotes cellular repair, sometimes leaving round, red marks that fade within a week or two. Though they may look like bruises, they are a normal response to the body’s healing process. Mild tenderness after treatment is common and typically subsides quickly.

Herbal Therapy

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a traditional healing system that uses carefully balanced formulas of natural herbs to restore harmony within the body. Rooted in the same principles as acupuncture, it seeks to regulate the flow of Qi and balance the complementary forces of Yin and Yang.

Each herbal formula is customized to the individual, addressing the root cause of imbalance rather than just the symptoms. Every ingredient plays a distinct role, working synergistically to promote overall health and vitality.

Traditionally brewed as teas from raw herbs, modern herbal formulas are also available in tincture, tablet, and granule form for convenience.
